Dr. Kristen Hicks

Dr. Hicks is a highly experienced veterinarian with a passion for providing exceptional care to both small and large animals. After graduating from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011, she honed her skills in a mixed animal practice in a rural farming community in central Indiana. There, she built and developed her own practice, offering routine and emergency services for both small and large animals.

Dr. Hicks later moved to southwest Texas, where she continued to provide outstanding care through her large animal ambulatory service and work at a large mixed animal hospital. She was introduced to VVC through relief emergency shifts and quickly became one of their full-time emergency veterinarians.

Beyond her work, Dr. Hicks enjoys raising and showing registered Simmental cattle with her husband and two sons. They also have a passion for raising and riding registered quarter horses and staying busy with their boys' baseball schedule.
